I am ready for a fun night!!!

Every year our town puts on a birthday bash called the Millbrook Summerfest.
It is a fun, family time with bands, food, and a huge fireworks celebration at 9pm.
We have only actually gone to it twice and Giovanna just doesnt do well with the LOUD fireworks.....so this year we have our babysitter lined up and hubby and I are heading for a cheap but yet very fun date!
I love fireworks, i love the music and love socializing with other town members.
So tonight we are heading out at 7:30 once we put the girls to bed...... I so look forward to having a fun night with my sweetheart!

The children of Guatemala....

REMEMBER, TO WATCH THE VIDEO YOU MUST TURN OFF THE MUSIC ON THE RIGHT HAND OF THE SIDEBAR!!!!

This video is one of many that the families of Semillas De amor orphanage in Guatemala have put together. For the children who are still waiting for their families to bring them home, help spread the word....they need to come home!!! the long year wait for Giovanna was terrible on us, I cant imagine what it would be like to wait more than 2 yrs.....lets pray these babies home!!!

Giovanna in the first picture was 12.5 mths old NOT 4! This was the first picture we seen of her, and fell in love instantly! She weighed only 9 pounds! TINY TINY!

The hold up on these kids is the simple but yet complicated POLITICAL JUNK! PGN, birth certificates, that they on purpose mess up therefore instead of taking 4 days to get them, it takes sometime months!!!! SAD SAD SAD!!!!

The Guatemalan government is not helping issues whatsoever!!!

These children deserve what any child deserves.....a chance to a future with a family that adores them! Please pray for the children of Guatemala right now, as the country has put a freeze on adoptions and the families that were in the process....jsut wants to be DONE...and reunited with their children!! Some cases, the children are already legally the child of the adoptive family, meaning everything is complete, but there is a hold on the child NOT to leave the country~ HELP these angels come home!

Ok today after speech we went for a ride....

and guess what I found??? A house! From reading the description, it is EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT!!! It has everything the other house had AND the jetted tub! That may not sound like much to many folks, but as many of you know, the house we oh so wanted to buy, but got bought up from under us by a couple at our church...was 5Br 2.5 B 3200 sq ft, pool, large lot, 2 family rooms, dining room, kitchen 2 car garage etc.....the only thing i was missing was the jetted tub..and I really wanted one, but of course can do without...

WELL... this one has it PLUS its 5 BR 3 full baths and 3500 sq ft so its actually larger in size, but your losing some of the yard. AND IT IS CHEPER THAN THE OTHER ONE TOO! We cant see it until Sat because he is out of town!! Bummer! I pray we will get a offer SOON!!!!!!!! Please pray for us!!!

wow what an honor....

My friend gave me my first online award.... Isnt that just so sweet of her... Thanks Heather! Here is her blog, go check her out....http://www.thebowenchaos.blogspot.com/

4. Add links to those blogs on your blog.

This is gonna be fun! Here we go for my award winning friends .....my Nominee's are in no particular order::

1.Leigh at http://www.grahamshenanigans.blogspot.com/
She is such a sweet person and a wonderful friend. She is the only one that has kept my girls and is thrilled to do so. She has sewn for them and I am forever grateful to her for her friendship.

2. Shelley at http://chroniclesofhousehold6.blogspot.com/
She has been such good online friend. We finally got to meet in person back in March and have remained phone and email buddies every since. She and her husband have also adopted 2 boys with DS

3. Charissa at http://www.urbansworld.blogspot.com/
She too is one of my reece's Rainbow friends. Her family has also adopted precious Ava from Ukraine and also happens to have the extra special something called DS.

4. Stacy at http://thekotilakidsnews.blogspot.com/
Im so sad to say we have just began to become friends and now she is moving! Stacy, wish we could have really gotten to know one another a few years ago.

5. Meredith at http://cornishadoptionjourney.blogspot.com/
what a inspiration she is to many......including me! Her and her husband Mike brought home 2 angels from Ukriane in the early spring. Remember me asking for prayer for the Cornish family...this is them!

6. Stephanie at http://thegreenlife05.blogspot.com/
We go to church together, and she just had a preciouis little baby boy!

7.Kris from http://ukiestoniamomto8.blogspot.com/
Kris and her husband have also recently adopted girls with DS...one from Ukriane and one from Estonia.

What a powerful saying....

My husband sent this to me this morning..... when you read it all....look at my response to him....

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did". When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

Concentrate on this sentence.....
"The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you".

Something good will happen to you today. Something that you have been waitingto hear. This is not a joke; someone will call you by phone or will speak toyou about something that you were waiting to hear.

So my response to him was this:

1. so we get a full price offer on our house today and
2. We get to start our adoption of Varsha in India!!! You know its gonna take a year or so to actually get her here!!! India is a LONG process. I thought the 11.5 mths for Guatemala was long...India is typically 18 mths.

Lyndsey & Michael I can hear you all the way up here....stop screaming!! LOL

Neither one of these may happen today, but either way, I know my GOD IS A POWERFUL AND ALMIGHTY GOD!!!! He will do what is BEST for our family in HIS timing! So I fall back on this statement...
"The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you".

This is such a true and powerful statement! God will always provide and carry us through to the other side of what we feel is something we just cant handle.

Ok...I called...

The realtors and the people who have looked at our house within the last 7 days to get feedback....

I asked them what their thoughts were on our house. What did we need to change, and or what did we need to pack up to clean out. Everyone's response was " WE really loved it!" the colors are nice, all the upgrades are fantastic, it shows very well even though we have all the girls things in their rooms, it is nicely organized etc...... and then they have said this.... we want a house that we can do the upgrades too, and still make money when we sell. HHMMM... well you can do that, you would just be changing what we have done. no big deal! They all said our house was way better than the neighbors ....so that made me happy!

Who knows what the outcome will be. If we sell, we sell, if not we will be happy here! That is one thing i have finally come to the conclusion of.....i must be happy where i am first, and then if the Lord wants to bless us with a different house..then so be it! (I cant believe Im saying this..LOL)

Today is......

We are gonna go play again today! Anyone want to come? I called Stacy yesterday and they will join us again....so we should have a fun time...for the girls and the mommies. I hope everyone has a great day!

did this happen to anhyone else?

On my create post section where you write your post...the spot to change the font color and size has dissapeared!!! Anyone help!!!

UPDATE: It showed back up!!! HMM...dont know what happened!

WELL.......

Today's open house was OK... had 3 couples come through....all really liked it, but who knows what will turn out....i have resigned myself to the fact, that if we dont get a good offer, we will just stay here for another year, enjoy the
LOW monthly payment, pay off my suburban... and then look for a new house...

BUT...thats not to say, i will be packed and ready to go if we get an offer!

William woke up this morning, and surprised me with a laptop computer. He is getting rid of the desktop so he bought me a laptop. I didnt know anything about it...what a nice surprise! He wants me to be able to take it around the house so i can be with the girls instead of upstairs in the computer room...so now, i can be anywhere!!!

Hope everyone had a good Sunday!!

Today is OPEN HOUSE

We did go ahead and decide on doing the open house with the Realtor. It is from 2-4 and William and I will stay here. The girls will go to Leigh's house, so there will not be 8 little feet under anyone who does show up.....

SO....

Hopefully within the next few days, I will be saying.....WE'RE MOVING!!!

Wednesday's Speech

We have had our 1 :00 appointment for speech for over 2 yrs now....well its changing! WE are going to have all 3 girls gettting a hour each week...so we must change......oh i am not totally a routine changer...but this must be done! I hope that with the new school year, brings many new, but great things for my girls. they are all excited about school, and I PRAY that it all works out for them to stay in school,......I know they will love the surroundings, but not sure if we will like what they pick up! Both Giovanna and Gabby will copy anything people do, and if they are stressing about something, GABBY will mimic others....so we will see!

School starts in a few weeks!

My friend Susan.....

Well several people have emailed me privately asking about my friend Susan and her husband Mike and the little girl i told you about....Well they made the decision the other night, after reviewing medical records, that this would not be a good placement for her to join their family.

so please continue to pray for this sweet little girl and the prospective new family that has just to be found...

Susan and Mike know the Lord will bless them again with the child that is meant for them...thanks for your prayers!

Its Wednesday already??

Wow, how a week flies by! I got up this morning and realized our day was Wed again....this summer is flying by.. We have done NO traveling as the gas prices are just too CRAZY! We are gonna plan on a weekend trip to the beach, just not sure when....

So today is Speech again.....and then our special drink at Sonic! I love giving the girls a treat for all 4 of them for under $1.10 a route 44 Cherry Limeaid!

HAve a HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Our playdate....

was alot of fun. The girls love going there to play....Stacy we will have to get together more often.....just our luck, you will move now! LOL!

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Today we will go play...

WE are gonna meet some playdate friends and their momma's at the House of Java for some indoor playplace fun! My girls love going there and it is like the only CLEAN indoor playground around. It is very quiet, and layed back. I dont feel like Ive got to be right on the girls because someone is gonna hurt them.....they just have fun, and we talk and drink coffee....well for those who do...I drink sprite...LOL!

Anyway, hopefully today will be a good day, they will play for a few hours, we can have mommy time, and then come home eat lunch and take a nap for Bella!

Hope you all have a good Tuesday!

The couple that looked at the house...

really does like it....however, they must sell before they can buy! So that knocks them out of our house. So we continue to pray and wait for the right couple/family to walk in. We are gonna drop the price so we hope that will bring a buyer faster. Our neighbors are also selling and the houses are so much alike...we are now only 1k less then them, so we want to drop it so people will take ours first.... They are having an open house on Sunday, we will not...i dont like the idea of having one with our stuff inside, so we want to drop the house price and have alot of flyers out in the box before then. Hopefully use their open house to our advantage.....if people want to see, they can call or come over...with us here.

so until then............

Having one of those days......

Well it is only 9:30 and I am really having one of those days..

You know the kind when yo wake up not 100%. Back hurts, baby crying to get up, all 4 little ones at the table oh so ready to eat....kids under your feet, cereal hitting the floor, girls not listening, things on your mind, lonliness by not having friends close by, agrivated because you would love just a few hours to yourself.....

you get the idea....

So to get out of the FUNK Im in today, Im probably really setting myself up for more aggrivation....but Im taking 4 little girls, that means, 8 hands, 40 fingers, 8 little feet and one little 3yr old that is hair pulling and really going through the TERRIBLE 2's to TARGET. Call me NUTS but I have got to get out of this house, to help bring be back from FUNKVILLE! LOL

Wish me luck!
With God ALL things are possible.

LeapFrog Leapster system...

Giovanna and Lily have really shown an interest in the LeapFrog Leapster gaming system. The three older girls will start kindergarten in the fall, and I think this would be a great educational tool for them to learn with while actually having fun doing it.

We are looking for these systems and games to go along with them. If you have anything along these lines will you please let me know. We just dont have the money to run out and get something along these lines for each girl at the same time...Lily's birthday is on Sept 9th and I would love to find her one by then. We would love the pink one but will entertain any color!

Thanks so much!!!

THE HOUSE....

I am SO NOT liking this For Sale mess! Do you know how hard it is to keep a super clean house at all times with 4 little ones right behind you messing it up???? I am all about having a lived in house, I feel that is what shows that it is a FAMILY that lives here and not just a model home...
But, when your trying to sell, Im sure people like to see a clean house.....

We have a couple coming at noon today to look at the house....Im telling them if they are intrested we are taking all offers seriously!!! WE just want to sell. Im ready to get somewhere so the girls can have a playroom, I can have a sewing/craft room, and not have a neighbor that always has cars/vans in their driveway...LOL..meaning somewhere that is quiet....is there such a place without living in the secluded country??

We are looking for a 5 BR house with at least 3000sq ft......PLEASE PRAY FOR US, THAT WE WILL FIND A BUYER QUICKLY AND THE PERFECT HOUSE THE LORD HAS FOR US IS READY AND ON THE MARKET!!!

Ok, enough about the house...just thought I would ask for some prayers going up......Can you tell Im anxious??

Our Saturday

William has drill this weekend, so it was just all girls! My friend Leigh took the weekend off drill and she come over. We loaded up the girls and headed to Montgomery. Our first stop was the Kudzu quilt shop for some fabric, the on to Hobby Lobby and then finally lunch. The girls did so well, but it is just oh so hard to keep our hands to our side when you see all the fun, pretty things when it comes to sewing.....

Leigh brought me a pattern for a super cute outfit for the girls, and I started sewing. ...THANKS LEIGH! I love the way it turned out and will post pictures later today....I stilll need to add elastic...

It is time to start focusing on school to start in less than a month. Wow, the summer is going quickly, and we really havent done much at all. This next weekend, we may head to FL....but no definite plans yet!

Hope your Saturday and Sunday is full of happiness to you all!

My friend.....

and her husband are going to meet the little girl next week on the 18th....please pray for them as they travel and that they ALL feel totally at peace with the transition....

thanks so much....prayer warriors are awesome!

Heaven's Very Special Child

This poem is such a touching one...I pray everyday that we as a family can give and will continue to give our girls exactly what they need. I know our God has BLESSED us with precious angels, and we want to make sure they grow and develop into the perfect woman in which they were created to be. We want them to know of the love our Heavenly father can give them...

Please if you think of it today and in the future....lift our family up in prayer...we have been given such a order, unlike many parents, with Heaven's very special child(ren) and we take it very seriously...pray that we will continue to do everything we can for our girls!

Heaven's Very Special Child

A meeting was held quite far from Earth.

It's time again for another birth

Said the Angels to the Lord above

"This special child will need much love.

Her progress may seem very slow.

Accomplishments she may not show,

And she'll require extra care

From the folks she meets down there.

She may not run, or laugh, or play-

Her thoughts may seem quite far away.

So many times she will be labeled

'different', helpless', and 'disabled'.

So let's be careful where she's sent.

We want her life to be content.

Please, Lord, find the parents who

Will do a special job for You.

They will not realize right away

The leading role they are asked to play.

But, with this child sent from above

Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon they'll know the privilege given

In caring for their gift from Heaven.

Their precious charge, so meek and mild

Is Heaven's Very Special Child".

PLEASE pray for my best friend....

Susan and Mike....

Yesterday I come home to find a email about a little girl needing to be re-homed....I called Susan right away...They got in touch with whom they needed to, got their letter together to be sent to the other family and today found out that they think they would be the perfect match for her....

They will talk tonight about more of the issues facing this situation, but please say a prayer for the original adoptive family, my best friend and her husband and for this precious little angel who has been faced with alot her whole life....and for the possible new transition.....

God has such a awesome way of preparing the hearts of many.....and I just want everyone involved to feel the peace that only Christ can give. I will not share anything else until it is a permant placement and they have custody of the child.

Remeber, this is my friend whom I asked prayer for a year ago, that lost their 20 mth old adopted, healthy son to SIDS. His 3rd birthday would have been July 25th and if this works out then the gift they will receive will be on or before that day! what a way to celebrate his birthday than with a new sibling! He is gonna make a awesome big brother from heaven...he loved being with other children....A great Angel to watch over his sister.

Our Wednesday...

The girls go to Speech every Wednesday to see Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Katherine...Hey guys!!! They love love love going! Im so glad.

After speech we always stop at Sonic for our half price "special" drink....AKA Cherry Limeaid..and my Lemon Real Fruit Slush! That is our Wednesday treat! The girls get excited about it and they ask all the time when we drive by is today special drink day??? I have to give in sometimes because, I oh so love the lemon slush!!

My husband gave me a surprise!!!

He took Monday off!!! And guess what he did?????

He finished hanging ALL the interior door and put up all the handles......so now I really need to get busy painting. They look great. We both laughed and said that we may just need to stay right here in our quiet house in the cul de sac....we are getting everything fixed up, the way we wanted it 3 yrs ago, and who knows what will happen.

THANKS BABY!!! I LOVE THE NEW LOOK OF THE HOUSE!!!!

Lily was his big helper all day! She followed him around from room to room handing Daddy his tools. It was too cute! She loves to be a helper! I have been posting things on our local freecycle all weekend, and things are really starting to "move" on outta here~

Well its the beginning of a new day...Tuesday....the girls and I need to head to the dreaded store...WALMART....to pick up some grocery's...Is everyone else seeing a HUGE increase in their grocery tab these days??? William said we need to eat spagetti 3 times a week....a cheap meal for all of us...$4.... and the girls love it!!! However, we both would oh so get sick of it and QUICK! What kinds of meals are you all making for your crew, on a budget, that they love??

Kennedy update...

Several people have emailed me and said you were praying for sweet Kennedy...Please keep it up. Her mom left me a comment the other day that simply said "Thank you for all your prayers!" Please keep them going up! Here is a update from their blog...

Kennedy slept REALLY well last night, our nurse kind of just let us be after her meds were taken so we both slept hard. She did still run a fever most of tonight and almost all day today. Her blood work and UA came back normal, but they're still waiting to see if the cultures grow out anything. Kennedy has been in great spirits today. I've gotten lots of giggles and for PT we went down to a play room and she sat unassisted. She was really wobbly so we were right there to catch her, and she needs to learn her limits on leaning forward to grab toys and stuff, but she's getting there.

She also stood up holding my hands and with the PT behind her for support and walked a couple steps and then she stood at a table and played with a toy for a few minutes. So, slowly buy surely, she's getting there. This afternoon we were able to wash her hair, which was so incredibly gross with matted blood and other lovely things, and then my mom came and stayed with Kennedy, and Frank, the kids and I went to the All you can eat ice cream festival to raise money for Leukemia. We're all sick to our stomachs now, but hey, it was for a good cause! :)

Anyway, we're pretty much just hanging out now as Kennedy gets stronger. This fever may just be the thing that keeps us here... she has to be fever free for 48 hours and that's not happening today, for sure!! Keep praying this darn fever goes AWAY!

Our weekend in review

Ok several folks have been emailing me waiting for a update..Gesh, didnt know that many folks really followed our crazy lives....LOL

Anyway, for the 4th we just hung around the house...my parents totally SURPRISED us and drove up from Troy and actually stayed ALL DAY! What a nice time to visit. My mom helped me move several of my sewing things, table, fabric, etc upstairs to Lyndsey's room, Im taking over one side of her room... We ate some yummy food, the girls played..Lyndsey stopped by for a few hours....Mike called....he was still in FL having to work.....boy fun!

Saturday, we hung doors and then our friends Leigh, Wesley and their kiddos come over. We havent gotten together with them in a long time and we must do it again soon! Sad, we live so close, and never do that!

Sunday, we are lazy to start out...We played hookie from church and I started painting ALL the doors William had hung the other day. My hand is killing me now! I did 2 coats on them and did all the trim work as well. They look great. We have some more to get done, and Im hoping he will do them this week, because he has drill this coming weekend and he will not get anything done around the house..... I really want to get them all painted and get the house looking good so hopefully we can get a offer! I will be SO MAD, if the next house we buy does not already have these 6 panel doors, because they are a pain to paint!

Well Im heading to bed....i hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Happy 4th of July....

Oh How we should all feel so blessed to live in America....the land of the BRAVE and home of the FREE!

Thank you America!!!

Man oh man....

WE went to lowes tonight and bought all the interrior doors for the house. WE have wanted to put new 6 panel doors in for the 3 yrs we have lived here, and just have not...so we do it to sell...HMMM sounds silly I know. I just think they look better...so looks like this is how we will spend our weekend...hanging doors and painting them....oh what fun!

We may go somewhere tomorrow but not sure yet!

Happy 4th everyone!!

Once again ...update post on Kennedy

I have been blog stalking all day waiting for a update on Kennedy....here it is fresh from her MOMMA! We are praying for you Renee and Kennedy....

Kennedy's fever has gone up to 101.6, and since her normal is 97.4, that's kind of high. They are not as worried about how high it is as they are about the fact that they can't get it down. She took some Tylenol and they have her covered in cool rags and have a fan blowing on her. Respiratory came in and gave her a breathing treatment just in case it's pneumonia starting. She sounds a little rattly (is that a word?) when she breathes, but nothing too serious. Her heart rate is pretty high, but they say that's probably due to the fever. Just please pray that this is just a post-op fever that will go away soon and not an infection starting anywhere. Also, her hip is really hurting her where they took the bone. Her nurse just brought her in a booster of morphine. Thank you all for covering her in prayer!

Update on Kennedy

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR KENNEDY!!!

Per her mom and their blog:

Here is Kennedy in her halo. She is in quite a bit of pain right now. They have morphine ordered, but it's not here yet :(. She is asking for water, which she's not allowed to have until tomorrow, but they've let us swab her mouth with a little bit of water so her throat is not so dry. She is really a mess right now... she has marker all over her and over 25 needle sticks covering her arms and legs where they tried to get IVs in. She has an IV in one arm and one foot, a catheter, a drain from the back of her head and from her hip where they took the bone. Both drains are slowly filling with blood... she did not need a transfusion during surgery which is a good thing! The halo has 8 pins... 4 in the front and 4 in the back... the biggest problem?! We came in to find her COVERED in techaderm even though I told them REPEATEDLY that it tears her skin off. We've had this issue at Vandy before too. I don't get it. They put it in writing, I saw them! I'm trying VERY hard to not freak out, but I just don't understand. Her cheeks are already blistering under the foam tape that is now holding her nasal cannula in... hopefully we got it off fast enough so her skin will stay in tact and not become infected. She also had techaderm on her thighs and it's over both IVs... they won't remove it from the IVs so I am going to have to ask for a consult with wound care so we can counteract the damage it's doing. It really just makes me want to scream. Anyway, she is floating in and out of sleep right now... when she's awake, she's crying, so hopefully the pain meds will get here soon! That's all for now, I'll update again when anything changes.

quick update on Kennedy...

For those of you just joining us here on the Andrews crew blog.....see below...

Kennedy is an adorable little girl undergoing a very scary surgery, right now as I type this...It is about a 7-8 hour surgery...here is a update from her mom a little bit ago.

All the hardware is now in and Dr. Betz just came up and showed us x-rays of her head. We can see all the screws in there. They are now getting the bone from her hip to put into her neck and then they will close and attach the vest to the halo. They said about another 2 hours. This may be the last time I update until after we see her. They still said all is going well.

If you would like to read more about Kennedy and follow her family, you may click on her picture on the right side of my blog and it will take you right there..... PLEASE remember this sweet girl in your prayers....today and for the many days ahead with her healing.

Please pray for Kennedy

Today is the day that sweet Kennedy is having her spinal fusion surgery. She is such a sweet little girl, and I have loved following her family for the last year online with their blog. Please pray for her, her family and especially that the Lord will guide the Dr's hands.

Here it is perfectly put from Meredith over at Cornish adoption journey:

So... what is it that Kennedy has? Well, you guessed Down syndrome, but the other two major things affecting her right now are that she is just now ONE YEAR post-diagnosis with AML (Leukemia). She spent many months undergoing chemotherapy and is now CANCER FREE! That would be 'in the past' now, but we all know that cancer is a scary thing that sometimes raises its nasty head multiple times. The other major issue right now is why I'm writing this to you all. Kennedy has a combination of conditions called AAI and AOI which means that the vertebrae at the base of the head/neck have too much space in between them and they cause her to have instability in that area. Basically, a fall, a minor car accident, or any other jarring of her neck could cause her to be paralyzed.

Please pray for her this morning.....
