WHY?

I am so sad right now! Why do people feel the need to use the "R" word??
Our girls are people too, and you know what they are very special people, to many! They are 3 of the most awesome things that have ever happened to our family, and well LEAVE THEM ALONE!

Please learn what the NEW "R" word is..........RESPECT!!!

RESPECT ALL THOSE WITH ANY DISABILITY....

BETTER YET

RESPECT EVERYONE!

so as you watch THIS, please know how terribly SAD and ANGRY it makes not only parents to children with a disability, but to also those WITH the disABILITY!

for those who dont know...the "R" word is Retard! and friends, that is NOT what our girls are!

4 nice people had this to say:

You have the most beautiful family Rita and the people who do not see our children for all that they are, are missing so much out of their lives, their hearts.
I had one of these sad and angry moments a little while ago...

Love your blog.

BTW, do you ever see Shelby's Mom ( I can not remember her name...)?

You have to express more your opinion to attract more readers, because just a video or plain text without any personal approach is not that valuable. But it is just form my point of view

Our 17 year old son who has ds complained his whole 9th grade year about another boy who kept calling him the "r" word--even though that boy was in special ed classes too! It didn't stop until we complained to the principal. Our son still expresses hurt from the namecalling.

On a better note, our state agencies are revising their laws to refer to "developmental disabilities" rather than "mental retardation." I'm glad to see it!
